Difference
"I can always tell a graduate class from an undergraduate class," observed the instructor in one of my graduate engineering courses at California State University in Los Angeles. "When I say, 'Good afternoon,' the undergraduates respond, 'Good afternoon." But the graduate students just write it down."

故事二
A Wolf in sheep's clothing
A wolf wanted to eat the sheep, but he was afraid of the vigilant shepherd and his dogs. One day the wolf found the skin of a sheep. He put it on and walked among the sheep. A lamb thought that the wolf was its mother because his skin looked like hers. So it followed the wolf. Soon after they had left the dogs, the wolf came at the lamb and ate it up. For some time he succeeded in deceiving the sheep, and enjoying hearty meals.

披著羊皮的狼
狼想吃羊，但是他害怕警惕的'牧羊人和牧羊犬。 有一天狼發現了一塊羊皮，便披著它混入羊群。 一隻小羊羔把這隻披著羊皮的狼誤認為自己的媽媽，被領出了羊群。 狼成功地欺騙了羊群，吃掉了小羊羔。
寓意：事物的外表有時候會掩蓋它的本質，所以我們不能只憑表面現象就作判斷。
故事三
The crow, rabbit and fox
The crow was sitting on the tree doing nothing all a day.A small rabbit saw the crow,and asked him:"Can I also sit like you and do nothing all day long?" the crow answered:"sure ,why not?" So the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow,and rested.All of a sudden. A fox appeared,jumped on the rabbit and ate it .moral of the story is :To be sitting and doing nothing ,you must be sitting very very high up!
【譯文】
烏鴉、兔子和狐狸
有一隻烏鴉整天坐在樹上什麼事也不做。一隻小兔子看見了，就問它：“我能像你一樣整天坐著什麼事也不做嗎?”這隻烏鴉回答道：“當然可以。為什麼不呢?”於是小兔子坐在樹底下開始休息。突然一隻狐狸出現，跳起抓住小兔子就把它給吃了。這個故事的寓意是：如果你想什麼也不做，就必須坐得很高。
故事四
A crab once left thesea-shore and went and settled in a meadow some way inland, which looked very nice andgreen and seemed likely to be a good place to feed in. But a hungry fox camealong and spied the crab and caught him. Just as he was going to be eaten up,the crab said, "This is just what I deserve, for I had no business toleave my natural home by the sea and settle here as though I belonged to theland."

有一次，一隻螃蟹離開海邊，定居在內陸的一塊草地上，那裡看著很美，有青青的綠草，是個養分充足的好地方。然而，一隻飢餓的狐狸走過來，看見螃蟹並捉住了他。就在狐狸將要吃掉他之前，螃蟹說：“我真是活該，我沒有理由要離開海邊那個天然的家，像陸地棲息的動物一樣，偏要到這裡來定居。”
