  Today's advice comes from Michael Bloomberg, American businessman and Mayor of New York City:今天MBA小課堂的嘉賓是商界人士、紐約市市長Michael Bloomberg:

  “I am not smarter than anybody else but I can out work you – and my key to success for you, or anybody else is make sure you are the first one in there every day and the last one to leave。"“我並不比任何人聰明但是我卻可以比你優秀,而我成功的.秘訣——每天第一個上班,最後一個下班。”

  While it may be simple for an employer to teach a new hire how to use the company's operating system or format documents, it is much harder for one to impart a strong work ethic on another。 One of the most valuable traits a worker can demonstrate is a willingness to work harder and longer than anyone else。教會一個新員工怎麼使用公司的作業系統或者檔案格式也許很容易,但是如果你要給新員工輸入一種強烈的職業道德就難得多了。一個員工能展現出來的最有價值的品質之一就是願意比別人更努力地工作,更長時間地工作。

  The beauty of "out—hustling" is that it often compensates for personal weaknesses。 If you're not the smartest person on the team but are eager to invest hours learning the material backwards and forwards, you will still bring a tremendous amount of knowledge and insight to the table。勤能補拙。即使你不是團隊中最聰明的那一個,如果你願意花時間不斷學習,你也會帶來大量意想不到的認識和洞察力。
